Bush and the “shopping is your patriotic duty” folks, Premier Liu (劉兆玄) has called for shoppers to boost the economy according to a report in the Taipei Times yesterday (Oct. 19).

“Rather than losing all your money in investments, it’s better to spend it consuming goods,” he said after spending NT$13,000 in a “shopping spree” by way of example.

So, don’t put your money in the stock market and buy more stuff. Got it? Good.
